About Up Next Nashville
Up Next Nashville is a free weekly publication that tracks new businesses across Nashville and Davidson County, written for the neighbors who will eat in them, shop in them and walk past them every day. Most businesses appear here early, weeks or months before opening day, so readers can watch a block change while it is still changing.
Everything published here is gathered from public filings and announcements, and checked before it runs.
How to read a listing
Each listing shows a business's name, what kind of business it is, its neighborhood, and the date. A listing carries a status only when the business is confirmed open; until then the business is in the works and no opening day is promised. When an opening date is given, it comes from the business itself.
What is never published
- Street addresses or map pins for home-based businesses. They are listed by neighborhood only.
- Business owners' personal contact details: no personal phone numbers, no personal email addresses, no home addresses.
- Signs of financial distress. This publication tracks what is opening, not who is struggling.
Editorial independence
Coverage is never for sale and never paid for. No business can pay to be listed, to be featured, or to be described kindly, and no listing is removed for money either. If sponsorships are added later, they will be labeled as sponsorships, plainly, wherever they appear.
Corrections, claims and photo questions
Something wrong on a page? Is one of these businesses yours? Have a question about a photo? Send it through the tips form. A person reads every message, and corrections run in the open, on the page they correct.
