Mother's Ruin is coming to 12 South

The New York cocktail bar that put down roots in Germantown in 2019 is building a second Nashville home in 12 South, a $1.1 million build-out, and a late 2026 opening is still the expectation.

The plan for a second Nashville location of Mother's Ruin first surfaced in the Tennessean's fall and winter openings roundup on Sep 25, 2026, and the business's own page for the new location still carries the same timing the roundup described: opening late 2026.

What it is

Mother's Ruin is a cocktail bar and restaurant founded in New York, where the original opened in 2011. Nashville knows it from Germantown, where its first local location opened in 2019. The 12 South spot is its second Nashville location.

Where it lands

The new location is in the works at 2906 12th Ave S in 12 South, as a full-service restaurant. The build-out is a $1.1 million one: a complete fit-out of the space rather than a light refresh, the kind of project that takes a season rather than a few weeks.

When to expect it

The Tennessean's roundup lists the opening as late 2026, and the business's own page for the location says the same. Nothing since the roundup points to a delay, so late 2026 remains the expectation until the business says otherwise.

The business's own site is mothersruinnashville.com, and it posts as @mothersruinnashville on Instagram.
