Sho Pizza Bar is building a second home on White Bridge Pike

The Riverside Village pizzeria with a Michelin Bib Gourmand is renovating a former tenant space near Trader Joe's for its second Nashville location. No opening date has been announced.

Sho Pizza Bar earned its reputation the slow way: a 72-hour dough, a handmade wood-fired oven from Naples, and a dining room in Riverside Village that fills up anyway. Now it is building a second home, at 52 White Bridge Pike on the west side.

What Sho is

Sho is a wood-fired neo-Neapolitan pizzeria. Its own site describes a lively neighborhood pizzeria dedicated to the craft, with a 12-seat chef's counter looking straight at the pizzaiolos, a dining room, a bar and a dog-friendly patio. The name comes from shokunin, the Japanese word for a master of one's craft. The recognition followed: a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand in 2025, and a place on 50 Top Pizza's list of the best pizzerias in the USA.

Who is behind it

Sho was co-founded by Ben Gambill and Mary Carlisle Gambill with chef Sean Brock. Brock's name carries its own weight in Nashville dining, and the Gambills have run Sho as a neighborhood place first, which is part of why a second location is news rather than routine.

The west side space

The White Bridge Pike address sits near Trader Joe's, in the middle of one of the west side's everyday shopping runs. The space is a former office-style unit being fully converted into a restaurant: new walls, restrooms, kitchen equipment and casework. At $650,000, it is a serious build for a second location.

What is not known yet

No opening timeline has been announced. The space is secured and the conversion is under way; the doors open when the kitchen is ready and the team says so. Until then, the original in Riverside Village remains the place to eat this pizza, at 1309 McGavock Pike.

Why the west side is a real test

A second location is where a neighborhood restaurant finds out what it actually is. The regulars, the room and the reputation do not move; only the pizza does. White Bridge Pike is a practical corridor, grocery runs and school traffic rather than a dining destination, which makes it an honest test of whether Sho's draw travels. The scale of the conversion suggests the team is not treating it as a satellite. Neither should readers: when it opens, it will be the full idea, a chef's counter pizzeria on the west side.

The original's site is shopizzabar.com, with menus, hours and reservations.
