TailGate Brewery is taking over the Yazoo Brewing campus in Madison. The deal, announced October 13, gives TailGate the 6.5-acre property at 900 River Bluff Drive, with a 40-barrel brewhouse and taproom. The campus becomes TailGate's primary production hub and its ninth Tennessee taproom. Yazoo's beers will keep being brewed there under contract, founder Linus Hall is staying involved, and Yazoo's staff were offered jobs.

The taproom will trade as TailGate Brewery Madison, and the company behind that name is Stickhorse Stables, LLC, a TailGate company. The name matches one of its beers, the Stick Horse Cowboy IPA TailGate has brewed since at least 2019. TailGate's announcement says the taproom will serve its signature scratch-made pizza. Grillshack, the burger spot inside the taproom, will leave the campus; it continues in East Nashville and Germantown.

Yazoo, founded by Linus and Lila Hall in 2003, helped build Nashville's craft beer scene from the Marathon Motor Works days onward, and its Madison taproom was expected to close within a few weeks of the announcement as the sale closes, and reopen as TailGate Brewery Madison.
